HOLLYOAKS fans were stunned at how different Jeremy Edwards looks since he played Kurt Benson on the soap in the 90s.

Jeremy, 48, appeared on Lorraine alongside Brendan Cole ahead of their appearance on X Factor: Celebrity when fans noticed how much he’s changed in the last two decades.

One person said: “OMG! Look at Jeremy Edwards!! Ha! I had to google him to see if he was the person I thought he was!!”

Another added: “He’s totally different to his hollyoaks days!! I had the biggest crush on him back then….”

Kurt Benson – a bad boy who loved music and motorbikes – originally entered the village in 1995, where Jeremy played the character until 1999.

He briefly returned for grown up spin-off show Hollyoaks Later.

He’ll be appearing on singing contest X Factor: Celebrity alongside former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole.

A line up of celebrity solo singers and bands will be going head-to-head to impress judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger in order to bag a record deal.

On the ITV chat show, Lorraine managed to rumble their real reason for taking part in the show – to have a “jolly” in Los Angeles.

Lorraine asked about why they entered the competition: “It wasn’t that you wanted a jolly in Los Angeles by any chance?”

Laughing, Jeremy replied: “I love that you see straight through us Lorraine. Everyone is giving it all ‘I always wanted to be this singer’.

“We are like, ‘you want to put to go to Beverly Hills? First class Beverly Wilshire?’ Boom.”

Ever the competitor, Brendan added: “We worked very hard.”
